How Long Do Knotless Braids Last?

Most clients wear knotless braids for six to eight weeks. Past that point, new growth at the root starts to matte and takedown becomes harder on your hair.

What extends the wear

A satin bonnet every night, oiling the scalp twice a week, washing gently with diluted shampoo in a bottle, and avoiding heavy product on the braids themselves.

What shortens it

Sleeping without protection, heavy oils that attract lint, swimming often without rinsing, and very small braids on very fine hair.

Know when to take them down

If the roots feel matted, the braids feel heavy, or your scalp is sore, book a takedown. Leaving a style in too long is the most common cause of breakage we see.
